The Thursday Murder Club premise feels a little bit tired in this novel. The characters are great as ever, but the murder mystery isn't particularly compelling and the resolution is quite dull.
The only thing that kept me listening was the personal stories of the characters, in particular the heartbreaking and beautifully written plot about dementia, which made the silly antics and murder plot just seem farcical and unnecessary.

As always, Fiona Shaw is a brilliant narrator!
