Adania Shibli is a Palestinian author and essayist whose fiction has earned international acclaim for its spare, poetic prose and unflinching exploration of conflict, memory and displacement. Born in Palestine in 1974, she studied at the University of East London and the University of Nottingham, and has held academic positions across Europe and the Middle East.
Her novel Minor Detail, published in Arabic in 2017 and translated into English by Elisabeth Jaquette, interweaves two narratives separated by decades to examine violence, silence and the traces left by history. The book was shortlisted for the International Booker Prize and sparked significant literary conversation worldwide.
Shibli's audiobooks and books offer listeners a distinctive literary voice — one that is quiet, precise and deeply affecting. Her work rewards close attention and lingers long after the final page.
