Alex Garland

Alex Garland is a British novelist, screenwriter, and filmmaker. His debut novel The Beach became a global bestseller and cultural phenomenon, telling the story of a young backpacker who discovers a secret utopian community on a Thai island. The novel was adapted into a major film starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Garland went on to write and direct the acclaimed films Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Civil War.
