David Kaiser is an American historian of science and professor at MIT. His book and audiobook How the Hippies Saved Physics tells the surprising true story of a group of freewheeling physicists in 1970s California whose far-out explorations of quantum mechanics — dismissed by the mainstream at the time — ended up reshaping modern physics. Kaiser's writing is entertaining, deeply researched and full of wonderful characters, and the audiobook is a fascinating listen.
