Iain Gale

Iain Gale is a Scottish novelist and military historian who has written extensively about the British Army across the centuries. His novels, available as audiobooks and books, include the Jack Steel and Peter Doyle series, bringing battlefields from Blenheim to the Western Front to life with authentic period detail. The Black Jackals follows soldiers during the desperate retreat to Dunkirk in 1940. Gale's background as a former curator at the National Army Museum informs his vivid, authoritative fiction.
