Irvin D. Yalom is an American existential psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and author who is one of the most influential figures in contemporary psychotherapy. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1931, he is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Stanford University.
Becoming Myself is his memoir about his life and career — from growing up as the child of Russian-Jewish immigrants to becoming one of the world's most respected psychiatrists and a bestselling author. His other books include Love's Executioner, When Nietzsche Wept, and Staring at the Sun. Yalom's writing blends psychological insight with novelistic storytelling.
His audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers wise, deeply humane writing about the human condition from one of the world's greatest living psychiatrists.
