Jill Paton Walsh was a British novelist and children's writer who completed Dorothy L. Sayers's unfinished Lord Peter Wimsey novels. Born in 1937, she was an acclaimed author in her own right before taking on the continuation of one of crime fiction's greatest characters.
The Attenbury Emeralds is one of her Lord Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane novels — continuing the classic detective series with great skill and affection for Sayers's original characters. Paton Walsh also wrote award-winning children's fiction and literary novels.
Paton Walsh died in 2020. Her audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers elegant, witty detective fiction that honours one of the genre's greatest creations.
