John Galsworthy was an English novelist and playwright who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1932. Born in Kingston upon Thames in 1867, he is best known for The Forsyte Saga, a series of novels chronicling the lives of an upper-middle-class English family from the Victorian era to the 1920s.
Beyond is one of his many novels exploring English society, class, and moral questions with characteristic subtlety and compassion. The Forsyte Saga has been adapted multiple times for television and remains one of the great achievements of English literary fiction.
Galsworthy died in 1933. His audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers masterful fiction about English society — novels that illuminate a vanished world with enduring insight and compassion.
