John Wyndham

John Wyndham was a British science fiction author whose elegant, unsettling novels defined a distinctly English approach to the genre. Born John Wyndham Parkes Lucas Beynon Harris in Knowle, Warwickshire, in 1903, he wrote under several pen names before finding fame as John Wyndham. Chocky follows a suburban father who discovers that his young son is communicating with an alien intelligence — a quiet, domestic science fiction story that turns an ordinary family's life into something extraordinary. Wyndham's most famous works include The Day of the Triffids, The Midwich Cuckoos, and The Chrysalids. His fiction is celebrated for placing extraordinary events into ordinary English settings with devastating effect. Wyndham died in 1969. His audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers quintessentially British science fiction where the apocalypse arrives politely — chilling, intelligent, and timeless.
