Julian Stockwin

Julian Stockwin is a British author of historical naval fiction whose Kydd series follows Thomas Kydd from pressed man to admiral through the great age of sail. Born in 1944, he grew up in a naval family and served in the Royal Australian Navy, giving his fiction an authenticity that landlocked authors cannot match. The Kydd series spans over twenty novels, beginning with Kydd and following its hero from the lower deck through Nelson's navy. The Admiral's Daughter continues the series with the same blend of meticulous historical research, thrilling sea battles, and vivid period detail. Stockwin is frequently compared to Patrick O'Brian and C.S. Forester. His audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers sweeping naval adventure from someone who knows the sea firsthand — historical fiction where the crack of canvas and the roar of cannon feel real.
