Liz Hyder is a British author, journalist and creative writing teacher. Her debut novel Bearmouth, set in a Victorian-era mine, won the Waterstones Children's Book Prize. The Gifts, available as an audiobook and book, is a gothic historical novel set in Victorian London, weaving together science, superstition and spectacle. Hyder writes atmospheric, original fiction that draws young adult and adult readers and listeners into richly imagined worlds.
