Marcus Aurelius

Marcus Aurelius was a Roman Emperor who ruled from 161 to 180 AD and is widely regarded as one of the most important Stoic philosophers. Born in Rome in 121 AD, he was the last of the 'Five Good Emperors' and ruled during a period of wars, plague, and political turmoil. His Meditations, written as a personal journal during military campaigns, is one of the foundational texts of Stoic philosophy — a collection of reflections on duty, virtue, mortality, and the discipline of the mind. The work was never intended for publication but has become one of the most influential philosophical texts in Western history, read by leaders, thinkers, and ordinary people for nearly two millennia. His audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers timeless philosophical wisdom from a Roman Emperor whose reflections on how to live well remain as relevant today as they were two thousand years ago.
