Maurice Druon

Maurice Druon was a French novelist and politician whose series The Accursed Kings is a sweeping saga of the French monarchy in the fourteenth century, widely credited as a major inspiration for George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones. The Iron King is the first novel in the series, beginning with the curse placed on the Knights Templar by their last Grand Master. Druon's audiobooks and books are epic historical fiction at its most compelling.
