Muriel Spark

Muriel Spark was a Scottish novelist and one of the most distinctive literary voices of the twentieth century. She is best known for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, but wrote over twenty novels plus poetry, short stories and biography. The Bachelors, available as an audiobook and book, is a sharp, darkly comic novel set in 1950s London. Spark's wit, precision and ability to unsettle the reader in a single sentence have kept her work alive for readers and listeners across generations.
