Plato (c. 428–348 BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher and the founder of the Academy in Athens, one of the first institutions of higher learning in the Western world. A student of Socrates and teacher of Aristotle, Plato's dialogues — including The Republic, The Symposium, and Phaedo — are foundational texts of Western philosophy. Laws is his longest and final dialogue, exploring how a just society should be governed. Plato's audiobooks offer listeners direct access to some of the most influential philosophical thinking in human history.
