Sarah Millican

Sarah Millican is a British comedian who has become one of the UK's most popular and successful stand-up comedians. Born in South Shields in 1975, she took up comedy after her divorce and won the Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2008. Elephant in the Room: Series 1 and 2 captures her live stand-up, covering everything from relationships to body image to the everyday absurdities of modern life. Millican's comedy is characterised by its warmth, its directness about taboo subjects (particularly women's bodies), and its ability to make audiences laugh about things they'd normally never discuss. Her audiobooks and audio recordings offer listeners and readers hilarious, warm-hearted stand-up from one of Britain's favourite comedians — comedy that makes taboo subjects feel like the most natural things in the world.
