10 Marchfield Square is an utterly delightful mix. Whyte writes with both cool wit and warm charm, and combines a charismatic cast of eccentric characters with a properly knotty murder mystery. This book is a real winner for anyone who wants a crime novel with a Golden Age feel but modern sensibilities. More please

This was an impulse purchase whilst browsing and did not disappoint. The characters were likeable and the twists and turns very well done. I did sort of guess the resolution but there was more than I had worked out. My only niggle was the strange pronunciation of 'dogs's' home using the 2 s sounds. It might be a regional thing I am unaware of but it is Battersea Dogs' Home to me. Its only a tiny niggle but these things can jar in the audio format. Otherwise I enjoyed it very much.
