What to expect
When Claude and Sir Bobblysock discover a Very Exciting Sports Competition at their local sports centre, they are very excited. They are even more excited when they are asked to take part. But Claude's doggy paddle isn't quite fast enough, and he's not quite as good at gymnastics as he thought he might be. Then some robbers steal the Gold Cup and Claude chases them - can he run fast enough to catch them?

Critics Review
-
This is a fun story and, as ever, the friends' adventures are hilarious.
Parents In Touch

This is another wonderful adventure for Claude that we enjoyed very much in our house...Brilliant to encourage those readers who are ready for something a little meatier than a simple picture book story, but also enjoyable for all the family, from small ones listening on your knee, to Grandads who 'borrow' Claude for a chuckle over a cup of cocoa
The Bookbag
-
For emerging readers I recommend the Claude books by Alex T Smith, which challenge those ready to move on from picture books with easy-to-follow text, a playful layout and humorous illustrations

Not only will the cartoony illustrations and fun comic-strip-like layout keep your young readers entertained, the story is fabulous too! This is reading for pleasure at its best
