What to expect
Brought to you by Penguin.
The phenomenal new thriller from the multi-million-copy bestselling author of Before I Go To Sleep.
Blackwood Bay. An ordinary place, home to ordinary people.
It used to be a buzzing seaside destination. But now, ravaged by the effects of dwindling tourism and economic downturn, it’s a ghost town – and the perfect place for film-maker Alex to shoot her new documentary. But the community is deeply suspicious of her intentions. After all, nothing exciting ever happens in Blackwood Bay – or does it?
Blackwood Bay. An ordinary place, home to an extraordinary secret.
Praise for S J Watson:
'An exceptional thriller. It left my nerves jangling for hours after I finished the last page' Dennis Lehane
'Suspenseful on every page' Anita Shreve
'A taut and terrifying novel, with a grip of steel.' Woman & Home
'An unsettling, compulsive thriller...A truly gripping read.' Marie Claire

3⭐=Average Read.
Well, I won't say that I wasn't confused for the majority of the book, I was-especially towards the end.
I can see that this was a really clever concept but the storyline just dragged on too much for my liking.
Maybe I would been better reading this as a physical book. I could then have kept going a few pages to fill in the gaps and remind myself who was who.
Hope this doesn't come across as too negative, as I wasn't reluctant to ever listen to it.Julie7 2024-02-02
