What to expect
Patty Wyatt is a fun-loving, headstrong, and intelligent girl who gets herself into mischief and learns valuable lessons, both in and out of the classroom. Now you can hear the complete story in this box set, from Patty’s boarding school days to her college life. Just Patty was masterfully crafted by Jean Webster as a prequel to her classic title, When Patty Went to College.
Producer’s note: These audiobooks were read from the original texts, which were products of their time. When the books were written, it was common in American society to caricature certain ethnic groups for the sake of humor. This type of humor was wrong then and is wrong now, but to remove these inexcusable jokes and harmful portrayals would be equal to pretending that they never existed. Instead, we chose to leave the text as written, in order to shed some light on the issue, allowing for discussions in book groups and school settings and hopefully inspiring future generations to write with more accurate representation in the future.
