⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½
I immersive read The Inheritance Games, reading the paperback and listening to the audiobook at the same time, and it was exactly the kind of reading experience I needed.
The plot was hugely enjoyable, fast-paced, twisty, and consistently engaging. I loved the constant turns the story took and how it kept me guessing right to the end. It never dragged, and I was always keen to see what would happen next.
The characters did lean very YA for my personal taste, but this is a YA novel, so judging it within that framework, they worked well and suited the tone of the story.
Overall, this was a 4.5 star read for me. I loved it, and it was the perfect palate cleanser between some darker, heavier books. It oddly reminded me of Scythe, completely different stories, but I think readers who enjoyed one would likely enjoy the other. I’ll definitely be continuing with the series.Craigreadsbooks 2025-12-14
