This is a terrific spy thriller that somehow avoids the old stereotypes about Russia and presents an updated, fresh view of its challenges to western democracies. The pacing was perfect, the plotting unexpected and believable, and the characters jumped off the page. Overall a really well-written and exciting book. The Moscow setting is beautifully rendered, and the Russian characters are as fully formed and complex as the British ones. I look forward to reading more novels by this author.
The audiobook has an excellent narrator, Simon Mattacks.TippyCanoeGal 2026-07-07
