What to expect
A traumatic secret, an unwanted assignment, a little girl in need, and a promise to a friend aren’t exactly the recipe for romance … or are they?
Investigative reporter Zach Wright isn’t thrilled when he’s pulled from an explosive big-city corruption story and sent to a small town to cover a flood. A bad case of burnout and disillusionment don’t help, either. And he’s definitely not planning to fall in love.
Restaurant owner Rebecca Matthews isn’t looking for romance either, thanks to a devastating secret in her past. Yet deep in her heart she still harbors dreams of a happily-ever-after. But despite the sparks that fly when she’s around Zach, getting involved with any man—especially a short-timer in town—is a recipe for disaster.
When Zach honors a promise to a friend, however, and temporarily welcomes a grieving child into his life, how can she not assist after it’s obvious he’s in over his head? And as Zach and Rebecca work together to help bring happiness to the little girl’s life, will they also find a happy ending themselves?
In Till There Was You, bestselling author Irene Hannon pens another heartwarming story readers will remember long after they turn the last page.
