What to expect
Brought to you by Penguin.
Miles from anywhere, the isolated mansion Darracott Place is presided over by the irascible Lord Darracott.
The recent drowning of his eldest son has done nothing to improve his temper. For now he must send for the unknown offspring of the uncle whom the family are never permitted to mention. Yet none of that beleaguered family are prepared for the arrival of the weaver's brat and heir apparent ...
Yet again Georgette Heyer shows the qualities that made her one of the most successful and best-loved romantic novelists of her age, and why her popularity endures to this day.
'Absolutely delicious tales of Regency heroes. . . Utter, immersive escapism' SOPHIE KINSELLA
'One of my perennial comfort authors. Heyer's books are as incisively witty and quietly subversive as any of Jane Austen's' JOANNE HARRIS
'Heart-stoppingly gorgeous' HARRIET EVANS
'Georgette Heyer is second to none' SUNDAY TIMES

The story took a while to get going, but once it did it kept me entertained right to the end!
