Critics Review
-
Ant Middleton is up there with Andy McNab and Chris Ryan when it comes to walking the walk and talking the talk. Great to see Mallory back in action - my favourite vigilante!
Stephen Leather
-
Mallory is an engaging protagonist... the inspirations are chosen with taste and the action is all too credible. You just know Mallory could eat three Shredded Wheat.
The Times
-
I loved Red Mist, not only because it's a gripping, rollercoaster read, but because Middleton's hero Mallory is, like Lee Child's Jack Reacher, a guy you really want to win.
Daily Express
-
Red Mist is a smart, taut and hard-hitting thriller that grabbed me from the first page and held on tight until the end. In Mallory we have a hero who not only accepts the darker side of his nature, he revels in it, making him a captivating protagonist but also a man you wouldn't want to cross.
Giles Kristian, Sunday Times bestselling author of Where Blood Runs Cold

Whisper it softly but Jack Reacher just may have a rival in the form of ex-Special Forces soldier turned knight-in-shining-armour vigilante Mallory

This was okay, but unfortunately I felt the plot was questionable at best.
To me, it didn't make any sense that Mallory would become so involved for no real reason.
That's not to say the tale wasn't interesting, just not as good as the first bookHojohns 2023-04-30
